Christine Winstanley

Co-founder

Hello, I’m Christine.

My early curiosity started in the late 80s…with clothes!  Their colour, texture and style; their mood enhancing quality.  Each day providing the ability to design a ‘whole new you’ - and so the journey began.

From banking to Benetton owner, from interior designer into the world of NHS, partnerships, PFI, LIFT and the boardroom. Each chapter, presenting an opportunity to create and influence the world through a different lens.

I’ve worked with some incredible people along the way, but often felt that the corporate world didn’t work for me - I wanted to be in an environment where people think about business in a different way, where solutions are found in liminal spaces and getting things done can often be messy - that’s why I co-founded Loxie.

Possibilities excite me.  The optimist in me has always believed that if we apply an alternative and human-centric lens to our collective problems, we can design a different future and move away from outdated structures, systems and siloed funding models, which are blocking the evolution, development and future delivery of our public and civic infrastructure.  We just need to be braver.

People are the difference.  I’m a people person and the maverick in me loves the power of togetherness-thinking. Particularly in the spaces where we experience the world differently – finding the gems, making the connections, and creating an environment where people become subject matter experts, project champions, catalysts and advocates for change.

Nothing changes, if nothing IS changed.  It doesn’t have to be seismic!  The starting point is just the desire for things to be better.  Better can be: easier, accessible, less fragmented, timely, or joyful – it doesn’t really matter, you just have to start with ‘your better’.

Out and about? Oh, and one last thing before you go, if you do see me out of work, please say ‘hello’ – I’m not hard to spot!  I’m usually in an array of un-coordinated colours, either on my mountain bike, out walking, or in the gym.
