Board-led infrastructure and housing strategy
The brief
A specialist housing and care provider whose leadership understood their mission clearly - but hadn't yet connected it to their physical assets. Infrastructure was being managed as maintenance. It needed to become strategy.
Who was it for: A specialist housing and care provider.
What we did:
We worked directly with the board, because this was a leadership problem before it was an infrastructure problem. The challenge wasn’t organisational ambition - it was that the people responsible for long-term strategic direction and the people responsible for physical assets were operating from different models.
We designed and ran targeted board development workshops that narrowed that gap - connecting high-level mission to tangible infrastructure priorities, and turning a conversation that had been stuck on maintenance into one about what the estate needed to become.
The organisation was then able to focus on developing a board-level infrastructure strategy built around long-term service outcomes - not just asset management.
